UTAH SUNSHINE

(2007)

This film grew from initial ideas centered around the concept of impacts, both actual and metaphorical and allowed the production team to explore the movement potential of a series of physical sets constructed and placed within a Theatre space. The initial improvisational nature of movement developed into a series of multi media set pieces, gaining a narrative based around notions of the aftermath of nuclear testing in the United States in the 1950's. The external collaboration of Sondra Fraleigh [poet and dance philosopher] experiences of her personal connection with these tests providing a powerful element within the film.

Principal performers are dancers Kristin McGuire and Ruth Way, with music composed by Ben Davis.

The film will be available on DVD from May 2007 and will be approx 12mins in duration.

This film has been made with the support of the Arts Council of England, Exeter Arts Council and the University of Plymouth
